If you’ve visited a chiropractor before, your experience with me, Dr. Alexandra, might be a little different. While I integrate the traditional chiropractic techniques as appropriate, I put a heavy emphasis on exploring, learning and reinforcing different movement patterns.

Why movement? Because pain is often the last thing to show up and the first thing to go away. Lack of pain does not mean lack of movement dysfunction.

Aches, pains and repetitive use injuries are generally the cumulative result of an underlying faulty movement pattern. Therefore, in order to achieve long-term resolution of your symptoms, you must address the dysfunctional movement mechanics. And in order to continue to perform at your peak athletic ability, you must proactively practice proper movement.

One of my main practice principles is that we don’t become less mobile or experience pain simply because we get older; we become “old and achey” and less mobile because at some point we stopped moving the way we used to.

Movement is a large component of longevity. Teaching you how to move better requires more than a chiropractic adjustment. It requires a preventive (or rehabilitative) performance plan tailored to the strengths and deficits of your specific case.
